Kidane Mehret show at National Theatre by students' self-help association, with songs, dances and poetry reading by the children. Tickets Birr 100 and Birr 15. 5:30pm.

Running races for 8- and 11-year-olds, sponsored by the Association for International Marathons and Road Races, Meskel Square, part of the great Ethiopian Run (see Sunday).

Sun 23 November
Great Ethiopian Run, 8th edition, an international 10-km run in Addis Ababa, expected to attract 30,000-32,000 participants this year. Registration expected in late September, entrance Birr 40. Meskel Square.

Sat 29 November
Diplomatic Charity Bazaar, pre-Xmas shopping fest with goods and food from all over the world. This bazaar is hot! It raises over Birr 800,000 in 5 hours to be distributed carefully to a range of small charities.
