"The Fine Line Between..." at Lela. Opening today at 3pm. Latest works by many top Ethiopian artists, featuring: Abdurahman Sherif, Antonio Fiorente, Bekele Mekonnen, Carlos Marine, Daniel Taye, Dawit Abebe, Ermias Mazenguia, Geta Mekonnen, Klaus Mertens, Leikun Nahusenay, Mammo Manguistu, Nigatu Tsehaye, Nuru Abegaz, Tamrat Gezahagn & Tesfaye Geleta. It exhibits the role of drawing as medium, gesture, act and attitude, and explores the pivotal role of lines in multifaceted works. From blurring boundaries and checkpoints of nations, from how the same object can be represented in various ways, from the placement of a line to its complex paradoxes, lines in some way are what define us. The lines set by ourselves, for ourselves - "there is a thin line between love & hate'. Using prints, photographs, sculptures, paintings, drawings, installations or designs, this show captures and thus opens the limits of the line. Turn away from Addis at Alert Hospital/Radio FM roundabout, white water tank & stone wall on the right, follow right curve for approx. 100 metres, gallery is on the right side, grey corrugated tin walls and grey gate (just after blue phone booth). Gallery times - Tue to Sat: 10am-7pm, Sun 2:30pm-7pm. Until 29 June.
